Stepping Up My Hair Game

I’ve always been a wash and go kind of girl when it comes to my hair. And to be honest, I’m not too sure I’m proud of that. I’m not sure if I’m really just low-maintenance that way, at least in that area, or if I’m just plain lazy. Since the latter doesn’t sound too appealing to me, I challenged myself to level up my hair game a bit.

In my attempt, I finally tested out my W Elite Gold Series Beauty Box that came with (1) a Nano Ceramic Hair Dryer and (2) a Curl n’ Straight Nano Tourmaline Ceramic. And here’s how it went:

I started out with washing my hair with clarifying shampoo, which is my go-to cleaning product for my very fine hair that easily gets oily and flat as the day goes by. After towel-drying it for a bit, I turned on the W Elite Nano Ceramic Hair Dryer, which comes in three heat and two air speed settings that allow you to control the airflow of the hair dryer. I put on a very small amount of the Heat Active Hair Serum that came with the box to my hair ends, turned on the dryer and picked medium for both settings. In about ten minutes, with brushing in between, I was done!

I used to not get it why hair dryers were necessary for people with really thin hair, since it dries out fast in open air anyway, but I seemed to have missed the fact that blow drying helps add volume to limp hair like mine. And knowing that now, I might just start getting up earlier in the mornings just so I can blow dry my hair before going to work! Haha.

I really, really liked how my hair looked after my encounter with this Nano Ceramic Hair Dryer. My usually boring straight hair suddenly got a bit ooh-lala going on. :p

While I was impressed with how my hair looked at this point, I decided to move it up a notch for experimentation purposes and tried out the W Elite Curl n’ Straight Nano Tourmaline Ceramic. And being the noob that I am, I consulted my forever girl crush Lauren Conrad before I went ahead.

I turned on the tool and got it as high as 150-170 degrees Celcius, which is the maximum advisable heat for my hair type, and waited for about 60 seconds or less for it to get hot. I parted my hair in halves using a hair clamp, and curled away. It took me about 20 minutes to finish, and after that, I sprayed some light-hold gel on my curls just so they wouldn’t straighten out right away.

At the end of the day, I still like having straight hair better. Nonetheless, it doesn’t hurt to change up your looks every once in a while. I’m actually looking forward to trying out other hair styles with my W Elite Beauty Box! Which brings me to…

Thanks, Watsons and The SM Store Beauty Section, for providing me the right tools to play with my hair! ❤
